These clinics are
also known as Well Baby Clinics. BABIES AND CHILDREN WHO
ARE ILL SHOULD BE SEEN BY A DOCTOR IN A SURGERY SESSION NOT THE
CHILD HEALTH CLINIC.
We hold two clinics at the Holton-le-Clay Surgery:
Tuesday 2-4pm - this is a very busy clinic and
children are seen for development reviews by Dr Massey and immunisations
by Practice Nurse, Gill Preston, and are by appointment only.
A Health Visitor is always available to provide advice.
Wednesday 1.30-2.30 - this Clinic is more relaxed
and babies can be weighed and advice given by your Health Visitor.
Appointments are not required. A Doctor is not in attendance.
Health Visitors carry out routine contacts to families at
certain times as follows:-
All first time parents will be offered a visit at home about a
month before the baby is born in order to meet your Health Visitor
and to find out what our service provides after the baby is born.
Between 10 and 14 days after the birth a Health Visitor will visit
you at home. This will usually be after the Midwife has stopped
visiting. They always visit by appointment. They will visit you
at home as often as required for the first 6 – 8 weeks,
longer if requested.
