DISPENSARY MANAGED REPEATS 

 

This system is designed for those patients who find it difficult to remember to place an order on time or  visit the dispensary more than ones a month due to busy lifestyle, health related reasons or any other difficulties. It enables you to order medication a month in advance, when you pick up your current repeat prescription. 

One of our front of house dispensers will got through your medications one by one to ensure you order exactly what you need.

Next you will be issued with a collection card. The card will contain your name and the date of when your medication should be ready for collection. You can than collect it at any time from this date onwards as you should now have at least seven days before you run out of your medications. 

Dispensers should ask you to check the content of your prescription bag before hand out to ensure you have everything you want (without any extras or missing items). This should not take longer than a minute.

 

PLEASE LET US KNOW IF ANY OF YOUR MEDICATIONS HAVE BEEN CHANGED DURING THE PERIOD BETWEEN ORDERING AND COLLECTING YOUR PRESCRIPTION

MONITORED DOSAGE SYSTEM

 

It is important that you take the right dose of your prescribed medicines at the right time each day for optimal control of  your condition. This can sometimes be difficult if you take more than one medicine.  Monitored Dosage System, provides you with a separate compartment for each dosage time of the day.

 

This system is designated only for specific patients who experience difficulties with medications administration, e.g. patients with dementia, significant number of daily medications, difficult dosage, memory issues, etc... 

 

If you feel that yourself or your relative find repeat medications difficult to manage please get in touch with one of our GPs for professional assessment.  If the doctor finds these services

beneficial, the repeat prescription will be amended accordingly within 2 weeks’ time. 

 

PLEASE BE AWARE THIS SYSTEM REQUIRES THE TRAYS TO BE COLLECTED ON WEEKLY BASSIS TO REDUCE WASTAGE.

WE IMPLEMENTED THIS SYSTEM IN ORDER TO COMPLY WITH LEGAL REQUIREMENT OF PATIENTS’ CONFIDENTIALITY AND TO ENSURE SAFETY AND EFFICIENCY. THE DISPENSARY  OFFERS SERVICES TO OVER 5000 PATIENTS  AND DISPENSES OVER 12000 ITEMS EVERY MONTH, THEREFORE CREATES VERY BUSY WORKING ENVIRONMENT.  WE ARE WORKING HARD TO CONTINUOUSLY IMPROVE THE SERVICE WE PROVIDE TO ENSURE WE MEET OUR PATIENTS’ INDIVIDUAL NEEDS. THAT IS WHY SYSTEMS AND PROCEDURES  SHOULD BE ADAPTED TO SUIT ALL.  THE QUEUING SYSTEM ALLOWS THOSE WHO CANNOT STAND IN THE QUEUE TO SIT DOWN AND WAIT FOR THEIR TURN. WE TRULY BELIEVE THAT THIS SERVICE IS GOING TO BE BENEFICIAL FOR EVERYONE.

 

It is very simple!

Patients take a ticket and wait for their number to be displayed on the screen, this allows them to simply wait in the area rather than queue in a line.  Each patient is seen in turn and is free to do other things while waiting. 

 

PLEASE REMEBER THAT PATIENTS WITH ACUTE MEDICATIONS FROM DOCTOR'S CONSULTATIONS ARE STILL PRIORITY AND THE PRESCRIPTIONS CAN BE HANDED TO ONE OF OUR DISPENSERS OR VIA RECEPTIONIST WITHOUT NEED OF A TICKET.

 

PATIENTS HANDING IN THE PRESCRIPTION REQUESTS DO NOT NEED A TICKET EITHER AS THERE IS A BOX FOR YOUR FORMS OUTSIDE THE SURGERY.

- special requests for multiple issues

  max 3 months on nhs prescription

 

- your order should be ready in 72h

  (subject to the drugs availability)  

 

- orders placed on Thursday will not

  be processed until Friday as the

  dispensary is open only half day.

  Therefore those orders will be

  ready for collection on Wednesday 

  

- you should be informed about any

  delays in your order

 

- we cannot accept any orders over the

  phone

 

- we need to see the evidence of your

  exemption

 

- If you are not happy with our service

  please use the complaint form or speak

  to the manager
